First Quarter Update
Updates here Looking so closely at the game 1st quarter JHU, 4 SU 2. Update on the first quarter here. It’s not looking good right now. We hope to get more goals and more stop by the goalee John Galloway.
Foxboro, Mass. — Three goals were scored in the last 33.9 seconds of the first quarter, and Johns Hopkins scored two of them to take a two-goal lead over the Syracuse University men’s lacrosse team in the NCAA Division I title game here at Gillette Stadium. Poor defense on Paul Rabil with 5:13 left in the quarter and Steven Boyle with 8.1 seconds left led to two of the JHU goals. Michael Gvozden has already made eight saves for the Jays, although SU’s Steven Brooks and Greg Niewieroski missed wide open nets. Danny Brennan scored his first career goal for the Orange off a faceoff.

Syracuse vs. Johns Hopkins National Championship
Division I Lacrosse Championship: Syracuse vs. Johns Hopkins
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Flash back to March if you will, to that wind-swept, rainy day in Hempstead when the Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse team ventured in as the top-ranked team in the nation, riding a three-game winning streak.
As Hofstra followers are quite aware, the Pride took down the defending national champion in overtime, and that effort by the Pride sent the Blue Jays into a five-game swoon. Johns Hopkins, as well as the so-called experts, kept wondering what was wrong with the Blue Jays.
Each team is gunning for national championship No. 10. Don’t think for one second the Blue Jays aren’t aware of that.
“It’s something you think about,” Hopkins’ Kevin Huntley said, “because you’d like to have that 10th championship for our school.” (more…)
